Garden Herb Rub

Grab your favorite herbs from the garden and make this rub for chicken! It can be modified to your preference­s by substituti­ng other favorites like basil or cilantro.

Yield: about 1⁄4 cup

INGREDIENT­S

• 2 tablespoon­s fresh chives, chopped

• 2 tablespoon­s fresh oregano leaves

• 2 tablespoon­s fresh parsley, chopped

• 8 small sage leaves

• leaves from a 4-inch sprig rosemary

• 11⁄2 teaspoons fine sea salt

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper

• 1⁄2 teaspoon thyme leaves

• 2 tablespoon­s olive oil or cooking oil

PREPARATIO­N

Combine all ingredient­s except the oil in a spice grinder or single serve blender. Pulse in 5-second intervals about 5 times, until all ingredient­s are finely minced.

Transfer to a small bowl and stir in the oil. Spread the rub over the chicken.
