China’s top leader Xi Jinping, in separate exchanges with his counterparts in Vietnam, Israel and Belarus, hailed the strengthening ties and deepening cooperation between their nations and China.

Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, exchanged greetings with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, on Jan 25 for the upcoming Spring Festival.

In his message, Xi said 2021 was extraordinary for both the CPC and the CPV, and for China and Vietnam.

The CPC celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2021, Xi noted, adding that China has embarked on a journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects, and the Chinese people are striding confidently toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The CPV held its 13th National Congress in the same year, and is leading the Vietnamese people toward the development goals set in the meeting, Xi said.

China and Vietnam are socialist neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, and form a community with a shared future that has strategic significance, Xi said.

The CPC and the CPV have adhered to people-centered approaches, kept deepening friendly cooperation between the two countries and promoted socioeconomic development and pandemic response in a coordinated manner, Xi said.

Xi said he hopes to keep close communication with Trong in 2022 to steer China-Vietnam ties toward sustained development.

In his message, Trong said the consensus reached with Xi has played a strategic and leading role in promoting sustained, sound and steady development of ties between the two political parties and between the two countries.

Trong said he hopes to work with Xi to increase political mutual trust and strengthen people-topeople exchanges and pragmatic cooperation, especially in response to COVID-19, trade and investment.

On Jan 24, Xi and Israeli President Isaac Herzog exchanged messages to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of China-Israel diplomatic relations.

Bilateral ties have developed extensively since the two countries established diplomatic relations, Xi said, adding China and Israel have conducted fruitful exchanges and cooperation in various fields that benefit their peoples since they established an innovative comprehensive partnership in 2017.

Xi said he attaches great importance to China-Israel ties, and hopes to work with Herzog to strengthen political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, expand people-to-people exchanges and promote the development of the two countries’ innovative comprehensive partnership.

Herzog said the two countries have obtained rich outcomes from their cooperation in the economy, agriculture, health, tourism and culture, and that he hopes to further promote bilateral ties during his term.

On Jan 20, Xi and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, in congratulatory messages to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-Belarus diplomatic relations, pledged to carry forward bilateral cooperation and friendship.

Xi said that relations between China and Belarus have forged ahead, with their traditional friendship growing stronger over the past three decades.

The two sides have built unbreakable political mutual trust, carried out fruitful cooperation in various fields, and have been firmly supporting each other on issues concerning their respective core interests, Xi noted.

China and Belarus are also coordinating closely and effectively in international and regional affairs, he said.

Lukashenko said that over the past 30 years, Belarus-China relations have been lifted from a friendly cooperative level to a comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual trust and win-win cooperation, with bilateral cooperation achieving fruitful results in various fields.
