President Xi Jinping hailed the bilateral relationship between China and Tajikistan when meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on
Feb 5, saying that China is willing to work with Tajikistan to push for new development in their relations.
The two countries are ironclad friends with unbreakable political mutual trust and offer each other staunch mutual support, he said.
Xi said that China is willing to continue to provide anti-pandemic support and assistance for Tajikistan and to strengthen counterterrorism cooperation with Tajikistan and other Central Asian countries.
Rahmon said that deepening the Tajikistan-China friendly relationship has been, is and will remain a priority in his country’s foreign policy.
He said Tajikistan welcomes China’s increased investment and expanded import of Tajik farm products.
The two sides also signed an economic and trade cooperation agreement on Feb 5.
