Postal services access improves in rural areas

-

China’s postal services have improved parcel delivery in rural areas, extending the rural logistics network across the country and benefiting local residents, an official from the State Post Bureau of China said on April 15.

All administrative villages in China now have access to postal services and every town has a post office. Postmen in rural areas not only send letters but also deliver parcels.

The cooperation between the postal service sector and parcel delivery services has been carried out in 31 provincial-level regions, covering 230,000 administrative villages, about 48.5 percent of the administrative villages in China, said Ma Xulin, director of the bureau’s general service department.

The cooperation between postal services and parcel delivery services takes advantage of China’s mature postal service network, reducing parcel delivery companies’ costs and boosting stability.
