Ford makes $2 billion profit

Ford Motor Company on Wednesday reported profit of $2 billion in the second quarter of 2017, up 3.7 percent from a year ago. Q2 total revenue was $39.9 billion, also up yearover-year. Ford attributed the increases to better performanc­es in the auto markets of North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. “This quarter shows the underlying health of our company with strong products like the F-Series and commercial vehicles around the world,” said President and CEO Jim Hackett. Meanwhile, Ford Credit’s pretax profit stood at $619 million, up 55 percent from the same period last year.
