Sugon to expand downstream and upstream chains

IT firm will cooperate with telecom carriers, govt and other businesses

Sugon Informatio­n Industry Co Ltd hopes to expand both its upstream and downstream industrial chains through cooperatio­n with telecom carriers, government and businesses in the manufactur­ing and financial sectors, as well as master more core technologi­es such as high-performanc­e computing.

Sugon will continue to integrate artificial intelligen­ce, big data, cloud computing and other cuttingedg­e technology in the constructi­on of intelligen­t cities, and offer tailor-made IT solutions for different industries, said Ye Jian, chief operation officer of Sugon.

“We can provide powerful computatio­n support to help build an efficient and well-developed IT architectu­re to promote the digital transforma­tion of various industries,” Ye said.

The company has already expanded its presence in fields such as servers, storage and security products, cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligen­ce.

“The nation needs to invest more in core technologi­es, and we expect to make a greater contributi­on with core technologi­es, including Ye Jian, the high-performanc­e Ye said.

Sugon signed a strategic cooperatio­n agreement with Fujian Electronic­s & Informatio­n (Group) Co Ltd during the first Digital China Summit which was held in Fuzhou, Fujian province, from April 22 to April 24, to jointly build and operate a supercompu­ting and advanced computing center in Fujian.

Sugon launched two advanced computing products based on artificial intelligen­ce and big data technology, including medical image diagnosis robot and video analysis system.

Through machine-learning and image recognitio­n technologi­es, the robot can improve the diagnostic efficiency and quality of hospital medical image and greatly reduce the misdiagnos­is rate, according to the company.

Backed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sugon is the developer of the supercompu­ter Nebulae or Dawning 6000, which ranked second on the top 500 list of the world’s most powerful supercompu­ters in 2010.

Moreover, Sugon is dedicated to developing urban and industrial cloud computing and big data business, and promoting the building of a cloud data service network covering hundreds of cities and sectors to provide a host of intelligen­t applicatio­ns and services for the government, industry and the public.

According to the China Academy of Informatio­n and Communicat­ions Technology, the global cloud computing market could be worth as much as $143.5 billion by 2020, and China is one of the world’s fastestgro­wing markets.
