BRET SHORTALL’S O GAUGE MODULE
Inspiration for modelers intent on building compact layouts can come from many sources, as readers of the next special-interest publication from Classic Toy Trains will soon discover. We didn’t have enough photos of Bret Shortall’s 5 x 7-foot O gauge display to include it in Toy Train Layouts for Small Spaces, but it certainly would have made an enjoyable addition, especially because Bret constructed his layout in Denton, Md., entirely out of Legos. One side of the layout focuses on the Old West. The opposite area, which he photographed for us, is set in England and highlights the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” The Hogwarts Express shown leaving Diagon Alley was fabricated out of Legos, as were all the structures and figures. Let’s hope Bret eventually submits more pictures of his imaginative miniature railroad.
