CAREY AND TOM TARKMAN’S STANDARD GAUGE LAYOUT

The noise and bustle characterizing the Standard gauge railroad Carey Tarkman and her husband, Tom, recently completed in their home in Wichita, Kan., has abruptly shut down on Christmas day. One of the railroad officers deposited beautiful glass ornaments in a gondola alongside the Marx freight terminal. The only excitement we can notice is Santa himself, celebrating with a couple of his elves before they return to the North Pole and start making toys they’ll deliver a year from now to nice and not naughty children around the world. Readers of Classic Toy Trains will see more of Carey’s handiwork in an upcoming issue.
