The Desert Division of the Train Collectors Association is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year. To mark the special occasion the group is having Lionel produce an O gauge A-1 Beer mechanical refroigerator car. A-1 Beer was brewed by the Arizona Brewing Company for the market in the state for 50 years. The A-1 label started following World War II, and neon A-1 signs could be found in almost every bar and cafe in Arizona.
