MY LIFE IN 10 PICTURES
Look back at Angie Dickinson’s arresting Hollywood career.
UNTIL SHE was 10, Angeline Brown was just a small-town girl living in Kulm, N.D. “I still am one,” Angie Dickinson shared.
“I had a wonderful childhood, out playing in the mud.… Where you came from makes you who you are.” Hollywood made her an iconic ingénue and, with TV’s Police Woman,
a role model. Some saw her as a sex symbol as well, and she “was very comfortable with it, because I didn’t have to embellish it or change my style.” She’s “never felt the need
for feminism [because] I never felt competition with men.” Today, Angie, who turns 85 on Sept. 30, doesn’t feel competition of any sort. “I am not looking for work, I don’t really care. I’ve had my day in the sun, and I am very content.”
