When she married her second hubby, composer Burt Bacharach, they were a golden couple. But the preemie birth of their daughter, Lea Nikki, was traumatic: “It was the nurses who named her, because nobody thought she would live.” (The couple divorced in 1980, and Nikki, who had Asperger’s syndrome, killed herself at age 40 in 2007.)
