Fresh off his Comedy Central roast, Rob Lowe gets serious again by joining the cast of the medical drama Code Black for its second season. He’ll play Ethan Willis, a hardcharging surgeon just back from a tour of duty in Afghanistan who clashes with some of the staff at LA’s Angels Memorial Hospital. “Two of Rob’s many remarkable qualities are the same traits we needed in Willis,” says creator Michael Seitzman. “He makes you want to know him and at the same time makes you feel you’ve known him your whole life.”
