A YOUNG GUN GROWS UP
THE SON Born in London in 1966 to Donald Sutherland and his second wife, actress Shirley Douglas, Kiefer (here in 1970) didn’t star in a film opposite his dad until last year’s Western Forsaken. “It was one of the greatest experiences that I’ve had in my life,” he tells Closer. THE FIANCÉE Kiefer’s Flatliners co-star Julia Roberts became a runaway bride shortly before their 1991 wedding.
“I commend Julia for seeing how young and silly we were, even at the last minute, as painful and as difficult as it was,” he said.

After starring with Reese Witherspoon in the 1996 thriller Freeway (“We had a lot of fun making that,” he’s said), they voiced characters in 2009’s
Monsters vs. Aliens. THE COMEBACK KID “I just fell in love with the script” for his new series Designated
