Breaks a Box Office Record
HAMILTON WHO? Bette Midler’s run on Broadway in Hello, Dolly! doesn’t even start previews until March 2017, but the Divine Miss M is already making history of her own. The revival sold a record-breaking $9 million worth of tickets on its first day of sales on Sept. 17. Bette, who tweeted that she’s “so excited” about the show, will play matchmaker Dolly Levi in the revival of the classic 1964 musical opposite David Hyde Pierce as Horace Vandergelder.
