Michael Damian tells Closer why his rescue pup, Bella, completes his family.
It’s just incredible how much joy and comfort Bella provides,” Michael Damian, 54, raves to Closer about his precious corgi-terrier mix. “She is so sensitive.” The former Young and the Restless star and director of the musical drama High Strung (out now on DVD) rescued Bella from the Save a Life Foundation with his wife, Janeen, nine years ago. “She was the last one,” Michael recalls. “We saw her and instantly fell in love.” Since then, Bella has become a staple in the couple’s everyday routine — they even exercise together! “She keeps us active,” notes the actor. “We walk 13 miles every week with her.” And she’s no stranger to guard duty, either. “Bella also has an amazing bark,” he shares with a laugh. “She sounds like a giant ferocious dog, but she actually couldn’t be sweeter!”
