Their Son Helped Them Heal

It’s been a difficult journey for John Travolta and Kelly Preston to mend their hearts after the devastating loss of their 16-year-old son, Jett, in 2009. But John, 62, recently revealed, “Certainly having little Ben has been a beautiful kind of glue for us.” The couple’s 5-yearold son was born nearly two years after Jett’s death and brought much-needed joy to them and their daughter, Ella, 15. Jett died after suffering a seizure and hitting his head on a bathtub while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas over the holidays. “The truth is, I didn’t know if I was going to make it,” John said. “Life was no longer interesting to me, so it took a lot to get me better.” But now, he and Kelly, 53, are closer than ever and are co-starring in a new movie, The Life and Death of John Gotti, as the mafia boss and his wife, Victoria. Ben has even joined them on set. “They bring him to everything they do,” an insider tells Closer. “They love keeping the family together.”
