He just fit into our family from the moment we saw him,” Garcelle Beauvais tells Closer about rescuing her shih tzu–Lhasa apso mix, Bear. “From day one, he adapted and endeared himself to us in every way.” The NYPD Blue star took in her little snuggle bug from a shelter with help from her twin 9-year-old sons, Jaid and Jax, only a few months ago. “I told the boys not to fall in love with the first dog they saw — that’s when Jax said, ‘too late,’ ” Garcelle quips. “It was love at first sight!” Since then, “super protective” Bear has been a joy for the whole family. “He has a great disposition,” the actress raves. “And he keeps my boys so happy.”
