Actor Bryce Johnson shares why his rescue pooch, Rango, is the perfect family pet!

He really completes our family,” Bryce Johnson raves to Closer about his rescue pup, Rango. “He is an absolute angel!” The star of Darkness Rising (out now on VOD) took in his adorable shih tzu-schnauzer mix after the woman who rescued him with California’s Hesperia Animal Services put him up for adoption online. “She posted his photo, and it was clear he had been on the streets for some time. Picture if George Clinton and Nick Nolte’s mug shots had a baby,” the actor says with a laugh, recalling Rango’s ruff appearance. Still, Bryce and his wife, Dawn, couldn’t help but open their hearts — and home — to the little survivor. “[Rango’s posting] said he was good with cats and kids, both of which I already had,” the father of two says, and Rango has been nothing but “fiercely loyal” to his new pack. “He gives far more than he ever asks for in return,” Bryce assures. “We love him more than he will ever know.”
