Malcolm McDowell talks about marriage, fatherhood and his plans for the future!

The British-born star puts his family first

- -Gregg Goldstein

From the deadly thug he immortalized in A Clockwork Orange to the adulterous conductor he plays on his show Mozart in the Jungle, Malcolm McDowell is pigood at being bad. Offscreen, however, is a far different story for the father of five. "I'm fairly strict but really quite a pushover," Malcolm, 74, tells Closer. "I once said 1 to my 14-year-old, Beckett, `Between me and Mom, who are you the most afraid of?' He went 'Mom,' which made me roll with laughter!" Makolm's been devoted to his architect wife Kelley, 50, for more than 26 years. "The more I know her, the more in awe I am of her," he shares. Now he tells Closer about his classic roles, his admiration for Ted Danson (stepdad to his kids with ex-wife Mary Steenburgen) and why he can proudly declare: "I love what I do!"
