L.A. Law’s Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker on how their new stage play strengthened their marriage.
It’s no surprise that the former L.A. Law co-stars are masters at mixing business and pleasure. Having just celebrated their 45th anniversary on June 18, Michael Tucker, 73, and Jill Eikenberry, 71, are teaming up on another project: Fern Hill, a stage comedy written by Michael and starring Jill, which runs through Sept. 9 at the New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch. “In this new play, I’m seeing Jill in a whole new light, and it’s just so wonderful,” Michael gushes of his on- and offscreen leading lady. “I was worried about feeling an obligation to be good in it,” Jill admits, “but Michael allows me to grow and explore. I know he’s there to support me. We keep our hearts open and, as a result, we discover more about each other.”
