Base­ball Hall of Famer Rod Carew, 72, was a hero to NFL star Konrad Reu­land and — in a twist of fate — was saved by him.

When Rod had a heart at­tack in 2015, doc­tors said he’d need a new heart and kid­ney. As fate would have it, Rod (who wore No. 29 with the Min­nesota Twins and Cal­i­for­nia An­gels) got them from Konrad af­ter the for­mer Bal­ti­more Ravens tight end died from an aneurysm a year later…at age 29. It helped in­spire Rod’s Heart of 29 cam­paign with the Amer­i­can Heart As­so­ci­a­tion to help pre­vent heart dis­ease.
