Looks at the Future in a New Film

“I hope people realize that they can make a big difference,” Jeff tells Closer.

HE’S STARRED in such futuristic films as Tron and Starman, and now Jeff Bridges is pondering what lies ahead for humanity in a new documentary, Living in the Future’s Past. “I’d like to see a future where we create a new system of energy we can sustain,” the environmental advocate tells Closer. “I’d like to see individuals engage in this problem. A lot of people think it will trickle down from heads of state, but we need to have a big groundswell of individuals coming together!” Jeff says he tries to remain optimistic. “You get hooked up in that fear thing, and I find it kind of paralyzing,” he explains. “I would rather act out of love. I love this planet so much!” For the father of three, it’s a very personal cause: “I love my kids and I want to make this a beautiful place for them. You’ve got to do what you can to make sure Mother Earth is in good health.”
