Lessons They Learned From Tom and Meg

-

TWO DECADES after they appeared in the hit 1998 romantic comedy You’ve Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, the film’s former child stars reunited to reminisce about the shoot. “Tom is a people person,” recalls Jeffrey Scaperrotta, 25, who played the veteran actor’s half-brother. “He is the type of person who knew everybody’s name on set.”

The star’s easygoing manner also helped Jeffrey feel comfortable in front of the camera. “I didn’t know I was actually filming because of how friendly [Tom] was with me,” he says.

Likewise, Hallee Hirsh, 30, who played Tom’s aunt Annabelle, learned a lesson about being prepared from Meg. “I was so starstruck by Meg,” admits Hallee. “I remember watching her perform a scene and saying the lines each time like she had never said them before, and being in so much awe of her.”
