Harry has said that the sudden, heartbreaking loss of his mother, Diana, when he was 12 led him to begin using alcohol and drugs to bury his emotions.

“He hopes that Charles will learn and grow from the message he’s sending out in the book,” says the insider.

Harry reportedly has a deal to write a second memoir to be published after his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s death.

“Harry says that if it weren’t for Meghan, he might not be here today,” says the insider.
