Watergate Crasher
As Richard Nixon said: “If it hadn’t been for Martha Mitchell, there’d have been no Watergate.” So, it’s easy to see why Julia Roberts signed on to play her in the miniseries Gaslit — which follows the scandal through the eyes of the outspoken wife of U.S. Attorney General John Mitchell
(Sean Penn). Martha’s life unravels when she publicly accuses the president of his involvement in the breakin and cover-up. “Being a free-spirited woman means being comfortable in your convictions and sharing your convictions with those around you,” says Julia. “Not all women have those liberties, and I am very grateful that I do.”
TUNE IN! Gaslit premieres April 24 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
