Miller eyed something more. Starring Oscar winners Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons, the drama follows an elderly couple who have a whole new world open up to them...literally, as their backyard shed becomes a portal to another planet, allowing a look at love and mortality in a new way. “Obviously, most, if not all of us, do not have a portal to outer space in our backyard,” says Holden, “but we all do have access to those same grand questions that these characters are grappling with.”
