Calista Flockhart is returning to television! In the upcoming Feud: Capote’s Women, Calista plays Lee Radziwill, sister of Jacqueline Kennedy and one of a group of New York socialites who wage war against author Truman Capote after he depicts them in a negative light in a magazine article.

It’s always been a dilemma for her. Sometimes “you start wishing that you were working,” she confesses of her years as a full-time mom. “And then when you’re working, unfortunately, you’re wishing that you were home.”
For the past few years, Calista has also enjoyed the freedom of flying between LA and Wyoming, where she and Harrison own a ranch, without too many obligations. “Harrison never stops working for long,” explains the friend, who says that Calista enjoys traveling with him. The actress also loves being able to pop up to Amherst College in Massachusetts to visit Liam, who is a student there, whenever the mood strikes.
But it’s also been thrilling to be back in front of the camera. Her delicious new project is an eight-part FX series by Ryan Murphy, with co-stars Naomi Watts, Demi Moore and Diane Lane. “Calista was nervous,” says a friend, “but as soon as she got on the set, the adrenaline and excitement kicked in.”
That could lead to seeing more of Calista on TV. It’s been rumored that the producers of Ally McBeal, the legal drama that made her a star in 1997, have been “begging” the actress to agree to a revival, but so far no announcements have been made. “A lead on a TV series isn’t out of the question,” says the friend. “She’d definitely consider it.” —Reporting by Rick Egusquiza
