THOSE RARE COIN TV SALES PITCHES

-

Rick J. Tomaska has been a professional numismatist for more than 40 years, starting with his flagship business, R&I Coins. After publishing his first book, Cameo and Brilliant Proof Coinage of the

1950 to 1970 Era, Rick went on to help NGC and PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) to establish the Cameo and Ultra/Deep Cameo designations. Six years later, he published his second book, The Complete Guide to Franklin Half Dollars, after which he worked with NGC and PCGS to create the “Full Bell Line” designation for the Franklin half dollar series. Rick has helped many clients establish some of the finest collections on the NGC and PCGS registries, including Proof Morgan dollars, Mint State and Proof Franklins, Kennedy half dollars, and Barber half dollars.

In addition to writing six books spanning three decades, Rick has contributed articles to The Numismatist (receiving the Olga Raymond Memorial Award for Distinguished Numismatic Achievement), Numismatic News, Coin World, COINage, Coins, NGC, and PCGS. Additionally, he was asked to contribute to the PCGS encyclopedia of U.S. coins, offering his expertise on cameo and proof coinage.

In 2014, he became a founding member of Rare Collectibles TV (RCTV) where he created Rick’s U.S. Coin Show. His goal was to provide both beginner and expert numismatists with beautiful, high quality coins as well as valuable knowledge, statistics, and history regarding their prized collections. Recently, he has worked with NGC to establish the Franklin “We the People” holder, reserved for only the finest proof & Mint State Franklin examples, all of which represent the gold standard in both eye-appeal and quality.
