David’s Courage: offering help and hope to recovering addicts
While substance abuse disorders are common, they’re often stigmatized and the road to recovery can feel like it’s full of twists and turns that can discourage some people from reaching out for help. Fortunately, a local organization exists that works to smooth out the transition from receiving treatment to living addiction-free.
David’s Courage, a faith-based drug and alcohol transitional living home, has a mission to have a lasting impact on the spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial health of individuals struggling with addiction. It is located at 10924 Lincoln Hwy. in Plymouth, the former Shady Rest Home. Volunteers spent about two years renovating the building in order to convert it into a coed transitional living facility.
According to their website, the organization offers a one-year recovery program
