CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS
Some states allow the carrying of a loaded firearm in the vehicle, either by a concealed carry licensee or by anyone of legal age who can legally own the firearm. Others do not. New York, for instance, allows pistol permit holders to keep a loaded handgun in a vehicle, but not a long gun. Be sure to check your state and local laws before outfitting your vehicle with any type of weaponry. It might be possible in some cases to retrieve an unloaded long gun from a vehicle and bring it into action by quickly inserting a magazine.
