CONTINUALLY TESTING AND EVALUATING
H&M facilities are equipped with sophisticated testing and monitoring instruments that not only track processes to ensure specified treatment times and temperatures are maintained, but also provide for excellent research and development capability. Metals are tested for hardness and checked to ensure the chemical properties of the Blacknitride+ have permeated to the appropriate depth and the grain structure of the metal. Its surface smoothness is examined under microscopes. Special salt spray test equipment is used to gauge the corrosion tolerances.
H&M Vice President Shade McMillen examines a pistol barrel off the line. The company treats parts for most major gun makers.
