TYPES OF TARGETS
PROVIDE DIFFERENT BENEFITS
01 PAPER: Great for sighting in; seeing the impact versus point of aim for different ammo; looking at groups to diagnose problems with fundamentals. New shooters should start here. 02 STEEL: Long-lasting targets that provide instant confirmation of a hit—no walking down range to see if you’re on target. 03 PLASTIC: Lightweight and highly portable; most are self-healing—bullets pass through and then the holes close behind them. Usually good for thousands of hits. Less chance of a ricochet compared to steel. 04 IMPROVISED: Inexpensive; great variety—scrap paper, cardboard boxes, aluminum cans, plastic bottles and jugs, old bowling pins and golf balls can all be great targets. Most can go in the recycle bin when you’re done.
