Ruth S. Katz, resident of The Towers in New Haven, CT passed away on May 7, 2018 in her home at the age of 90 years.

Ruth was born on April 6, 1928 in Queens, NY. Also raised in Queens, she attended Queens College and received her degree in English Literature. Ruth was also an operatic student and absolutely loved classical music. After college, Ruth attended art school, where she met her beloved husband, William Katz. In the many years to follow, Ruth was a very talented and accomplish­ed sculptor and sold several pieces of her beautiful art work at various art shows and galleries.

Ruth was a highly intelligen­t and elegant woman. Ruth’s primary interests included listening to Mozart, reading and listening to books on tape, writing poetry, enjoying films, travelling and most of all, spending time with her family. She loved her family very much and always took great interest in the lives and accomplish­ments of her children, step children and grandchild­ren.

Ruth will be sadly missed by her sons Eric Katz and Jason Katz, by her step children Billy Katz and Barbara Metcalfe, by her grandchild­ren Daniel, Chloe, Steven, Emily, Malcom and Eileen Katz, Rosy and Walker Metcalfe, Lexi Barton and by many other close family members and dear friends who loved her. Ruth was predecease­d by her loving husband, William Katz and by her son, Todd Katz.

There will be a family and friends service / gathering for Ruth on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 2: 00 p. m. - 4: 00 p. m. at The Towers, 18 Tower Lane, New Haven, CT 06519.
