1 Health Depart­ment farm­ers mar­ket com­ing

The Strat­ford Health Depart­ment will again host a farm­ers mar­ket on Par­adise Green this year. It will be open on Mon­days from 2 to 6 p. m. be­gin­ning on June 18.

The mar­ket op­er­ates ev­ery Mon­day un­til the end of Oc­to­ber, rain or shine. As in pre­vi­ous years, Con­necti­cut- grown pro­duce, lo­cal meats, shell­fish, cheeses, baked goods, and crafts will be on sale. Par­adise Green is at the in­ter­sec­tion of Hunt­ing­ton Road and Main Street.

“En­cour­ag­ing res­i­dents to con­sume plenty of fresh fruits and veg­eta­bles daily, in ad­di­tion to reg­u­lar ex­er­cise, con­tin­ues to be a ma­jor goal for the Strat­ford Health Depart­ment,” said Greta Broneill, as­sis­tant di­rec­tor of health.

The Health Depart­ment is part of a coali­tion called Get Healthy CT, which aims to de­crease obe­sity and in­crease phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity. For more in­for­ma­tion and healthy tips, visit www. geth­ealthyct.org.
