Burton W. Cochrane, age 85 of Wallingfor­d, formerly of Milford, passed away July 25, 2018 at Masonicare of Wallingfor­d. Burton was born in Bridgeport, February 11, 1933, son of the late Burton W. and Jean Myrick Cochrane. Mr. Cochrane was a veteran serving in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Hornet. After serving in the Navy, he worked as a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for many years until his retirement. A loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, and uncle, he is survived by his loving wife Lois Joyce Cochrane of Wallingfor­d, his son Michael J. Cochrane of Wallingfor­d, his grandchild­ren Chad A. Parker and Daniel P. Parker, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his son Burton W. Cochrane, III, his daughter Patricia Ann Parker, his brothers Bernard and Thomas Cochrane, and his sister Betsy Williams. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Patricia Leonard- Pasley officiatin­g. Interment with full military honors will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford.
