Robert William Krysiak

Robert William Krysiak, age 92, entered into eternal peace at home in Stratford, CT on July 24, 2018, after a brief illness. He was pre- deceased in 1987 by his wife, Patricia ( Halmeck) Krysiak and his son, Mark Krysiak, in 2011. Born in Bridgeport, he lived there until moving to Stratford in the 1950’ s where he and PJ raised their children. He volunteere­d to join the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the Pacific theatre with the 158th Regimental Combat Team, renowned skilled jungle fighters the “Bushmaster­s” and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was very proud to be a U.S. veteran and he received the Philippine Liberation Medal, Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He served in the Bridgeport Police Dept. for two years before entering the Connecticu­t State Police Academy. He was a retired Connecticu­t State Trooper having been stationed in various CSP barracks throughout Connecticu­t for over 30 years. He was a proud life member of the VFW Law Enforcemen­t Post # 10273 and a life member of Germani-aSchwaben Hall. Robert enjoyed listening to Sinatra and Elvis, cheering on the NY Giants and NY Yankees and watching every western he could find on TV. He is also pre- deceased by his parents, Mary ( Lubik) Krysiak and Zygmunt Krysiak, his brothers Stanley, Vincent, and Walter Krysiak and his sister, Natalie Gausvik. Robert is survived by his daughter Maryellyn Ewald and her husband, George, of Long Pond and his daughter, Robyn Hasbrouck and her husband, Keith, of Stratford. Robyn was his devoted loving caregiver. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchild­ren, Nicole Krysiak of Ansonia, Lauren Mullin and her husband, Brendan, of Philadelph­ia, Erin Lynes and her husband, Will, of Sydney, Australia, Zachary Hasbrouck of Stratford, Samantha Krysiak and Mark Krysiak Jr., both of North Carolina; his great- grandchild­ren Penny and Abby Mullin and Levi Lynes; two sisters- in- law Sally Siksay and Margaret Barrett and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews. Family and friends are invited to visitation hours at the Dennis & Darcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, from 4: 00 p. m. to

7: 00 p. m. on Tuesday, July 31. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home at 10: 30 a. m. on Wednesday, August 1, with internment immediatel­y following.
