Agent focuses on being an effective communicat­or

For as long as Matt Comer can remember, he wanted to be a real estate agent. And after working his way up the corporate ladder and working as a division head for a logistics company, he decided that it was time.

“I would go in early and sometimes not get home until 10: 30 at night,” Comer explained. “I knew that if I could work that hard for my boss, I could certainly do that for myself and my clients and be successful. So I took the plunge and started my career as a full time Realtor three years ago.”

He abides by the philosophy to make his clients happy and works to be sure that is exactly what happens, stressing that communicat­ion and responsive­ness is extremely important.

“If a client calls or texts me, I answer! I'm there to walk them through the process. If I don't know an answer to a question, I will find out for them. I worry about the client and their needs. This is the biggest transactio­n a person makes in their life and I want to make sure they are happy with their decision, so I will have a client for life.”

He recognizes that every transactio­n is unique which is why it is important to understand the client’s wants and needs. He provides his buyers with timelines and various tools and resources they might need to complete a transactio­n. With sellers, he makes sure to be very up front with them right from the beginning.

that might arise either from an inspection or appraisal,” Comer adds. “I give them the knowledge ahead of time, so they can be prepared.”

Comer creates marketing booklets that are unique for each property and utilizes various apps and programs to make listings stand out on social media, which he says today is an integral aspect of a property’s successful marketing plan. He also credits his brokerage, William Raveis, for the outstandin­g support they provide their agents in the areas of technology, contact management and strong social media and internet presence.
