Edwin Bruce Deveny

Edwin Bruce Deveny, age 62, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 35 years to Margaret Jane ( Bike) Deveny. Edwin was born in Bridgeport, on October 5, 1955, son of Mary June ( Clark) Deveny and the late Henry Edwin Deveny. He served four years in the United States Marine Corp. Edwin worked many years at AVCO Lycoming in Stratford and later was employed at M Cubed Technologies, Inc. in Monroe. He was an avid sports fan who liked bowling, volleyball, and watching stock car racing and football. He also enjoyed listening to music, playing the trumpet and riding his motorcycles. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Edwin is the beloved father of Jennifer and Daniel Deveny, loving grandfather of Daniel Deveny, Jr., brother of Richard Deveny of Stratford, William Deveny and his wife Linda of Naugatuck, Douglas Deveny and his partner Brien of Essex, Elizabeth Clouspy of Athens, GA, and Janet Jakims of North Palm Beach, FL, uncle of Brian Jakims of North Palm Beach, FL, Cort Dillon Clouspy of Athens, GA, Mallory Curry and her husband Courtney of Athens, GA, Casey Vann and her husband Chris of Athens, GA, and great uncle of Linnea Clouspy of Athens, GA. He is the brother- in- law of Mary Shacoski and her husband Robert of Shelton, John Bike and his wife Maureen of Tucson, AZ, Martha Bike of Fairfield, Marilyn Barker of Stratford and Lidio Raffaeli of Stratford. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from all over the country. The family would like to thank the VA CT Healthcare System in West Haven and the Shelton Police Department for their care and compassion.
