Virginia Tope

Virginia Tope, age 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late Carl Tope.

Virginia was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Edwin and Ruth Evitts and was a resident of Stratford. Virginia was associated with the Baldwin Center for many years, both as an employee and participant.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Griffin of Stratford, and Jeanette Wendland and husband Tom of Stratford; her grandchildren, Michael S. Griffin and wife Erin, Sean P. Griffin, and Chris Griffin and wife Dyan, Tom Wendland, Jr. and wife Colleen, Gina Wendland, and Carl Wendland and fiancée Cath- erine; five great- grandchildren; and one great- great- grandchild.

Family and friends may call on Monday, August 20th, 2018 from 4 to 8 p. m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 20th at 11: 00 a. m. at Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford. Interment at Union Cemetery immediately following.
