Filomena “Nellie” D’Eramo DelGais, age 97, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Gennaro DelGais, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Born on April 5, 1921 in Introdacqu­a, Province of L’Aquila, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Silvestri D’Eramo. Prior to retiring, she was employed by D. M. Reads and Macy’s as a department manager. Nellie was a strong, vibrant woman who enjoyed and treasured time spent with her family. The unconditio­nal love she provided will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Nellie was predecease­d by her beloved son Richard DelGais, daughterin- law, Holly DelGais, son- in- law Robert Chop, brothers, Trent, Peter and Orest D’Eramo and a sister, Gloria Ferrara. Survivors include two loving children, Michael DelGais and his wife Elaine of Monroe and Donna Chop of Oxford, seven cherished grandchild­ren, Michael DelGais Jr. ( Carol), Michelle Garrity ( Brian), Gennaro DelGais, Bethany Eastman, Chris DelGais ( Krista), Nicole Concepcion ( Will) and David Chop, 10 adored great grandchild­ren, Anthony, Michael Vance, Ashleigh, Aidan, Kieran, Hunter, Quinn, Matthew, Lilliana, and Skylar; a sister, Edith Salce ( Anthony), as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11: 00 a. m. directly in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p. m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
