Halloween event
The Fairfield Museum and History Center, in partnership with the town of Fairfield, presents the third annual Halloween on the Green event Sunday, Oct. 28, from noon to 4 p. m. on the Museum Commons. The event features trick- or- treating, giveaways, displays, food trucks, a bounce house and other kid- friendly activities, storytelling, a costume parade, pumpkin carving and hayrides. Kids’ musical program
The Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St., Shelton, offers a musical program featuring Ryan SanAngelo, children’s author and musician, on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 11 a. m. to noon. Children 3 to 9 and their caregivers are welcome to sing and dance in the high- energy program. Registration is required. The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield will create its second Brief items, 50 words or less, will be accepted for Community News by email only. Please do not send attachments. Please send two weeks before the event to community- news@ ctpost. com. annual Field of Valor to honor military veterans by displaying American flags at Jennings Park in Fairfield for the two weeks surrounding Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Flag sponsorships are available for $ 25 to honor veterans. Both the honoree and sponsor names will be displayed on a card attached to each flag. Sponsors can keep their flags or donate them for future use. Proceeds will support Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport. Kolbasz sale
Members of the United Church of Christ in Bridgeport are making Hungarian kolbasz to sell. The fresh kolbasz are available by order only in regular or hot for $ 6 per pound. Pickup is at the Bessemer Center kitchen, 2200 North Ave., on Nov. 15. Order deadline is Nov. 9. Call Frank at 203254- 1758.
Model Airplane Group
The Milford Model Airplane Group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a. m. to noon in the gym at the Margaret Egan Center, 35 Matthews St. Anyone with an interest in building balsa model airplanes is welcome.
