Joseph W. Deutsch, age 92, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of Theresa Quintilian­o Deutsch, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018. Born and raised in Bridgeport, son of the late Louis and Anna Kounchal Deutsch, Joseph had been a Fairfield Town resident for most of his life before moving to Florida several years ago. He was a proud Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII, serving as a Staff Sergeant on the B- 29 Bombers as Captain of the Gunners. He flew many bombing missions over Tokyo towards the end of the war. Following the War, he went on to study Pharmacy at the University of Connecticu­t, and graduated with a degree in Pharmacolo­gy. Joe worked as a registered Pharmacist for Ethical Pharmacy and CVS for over 50 years until his retirement. Joe loved his dogs very much. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and walking on the beaches and in the parks feeding the wild birds there. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, as well as a history buff. In addition to Theresa, his loving wife of 64 years, survivors include his sons, Joseph Deutsch II and his wife Alicia of Fairfield, Louis Deutsch and his wife Darcy of Litchfield and Clifford Deutsch and his wife Maureen of Naples, Florida. He leaves behind his grandchild­ren Jessica and Joseph Deutsch and Faith and Brittney Deutsch, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his brother, Eugene Deutsch.
