Ida Wawrzynski

July 5, 1920- Oct. 30, 2018

Ida ( Messina) Wawrzynski, age 98, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Ida was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary ( Sperano) Messina. She is predeceased by her late husband, Thaddeus M. Wawrzynski. Born in Bridgeport on July 5, 1920, Ida was a lifelong resident. Ida worked for many years during and after the war at the General Electric Company as an assembler until her retirement. Ida was an avid Red Sox fan and she loved to cook. Her greatest joy was her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane W. Marshall and husband Dr. James Marshall of Orange, three grandchildren; Scott J. Cowan and wife Jessica of Milford, Justin M. Cowan and wife Ute of Milford, and Erica Maillet and husband Dan of Naugatuck, four great grandchildren; Maya, Felix, Layla and Ariel Cowan. She was predeceased by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10: 00 a. m. DIRECTLY in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery, Orange Ct. There will be no night calling hours. Arrangement entrusted to the Parente- Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105, in memory of Ida.
