Carl Joseph Demore, Sr., age 98 of Trumbull, devoted husband of Ida ( Conte), passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Center with his family at his side. Mr. Demore was born December 20, 1919 in Bridgeport, CT son of the late Daniel ( Annunziato) and Francesca Lopez De Moro. He served in the US Army Air Corp with an honorable discharge, and led a quality control lab at AVCO Division of Lycoming in Stratford, CT for many years until his retirement. Upon his retirement he and his wife Ida lived in Florida for seven years and thereafter enjoyed returning to Florida and traveling to Italy to visit friends and family. He loved Big Band music, dancing, bocce, and was proud to have seen his family grow to four generation­s including five grandchild­ren and eight greatgrand­children.

He is predecease­d by his beloved wife and mother of his two children Mary Varnelli Demore married in 1942, his granddaugh­ter Stephanie Demore Dunshee, and his greatgrand­son Jameson Murray. He is also predecease­d by his sisters Mary Sutherland ( Cecil), Eugenia Redmond ( Grover), Josephine Flood ( Terrance), Antonietta De Moro, and brothers Don Demore ( Joan), and Francesco De Moro.

He is survived by his wife Ida who he married in 1965 and shared 53 years of memories, his son Carl Demore, Jr. ( Brenda), his daughter Marilyn Morey ( William), grandchild­ren StacyannTa­ylor ( James), William Morey, Jr. ( Liane), Jason Morey ( Gianna), Elizabeth Forsberg ( James), great- grandchild­ren Jenna and Krysta Taylor, Gabriel Dunshee, Cole and Hannah Forsberg, Giancarlo Morey, and Shelby Carla Murray. He is also survived by his brother Frank DeMoro ( Anne) of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday November 8 at 11: 00 a. m. at Christ the King Parish, 4700 Madison Ave, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Friends are invited to greet Carl’s family on Wednesday, November 7 from 4- 8 p. m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
