Etc. Hitchcock opera

-

The new Metropolitan Opera 1 adaptation of the 1964 Alfred Hitchcock film “Marnie” is getting a live telecast at the Warner Theatre in Torrington. Composer Nico Muhly draws on the Winston Graham novel that inspired the film for its setting in the 1950s rather than the 1960s movie backdrop. Mezzo- soprano Isabel Leonard sings the enigmatic title role and baritone Christopher Maltman is the man who pursues Marnie with disastrous results. Warner Theatre, 68 Main St., Torrington. Saturday, Nov. 10 at 12: 55 p. m. $ 24. 860- 489- 7180, warnertheatre. org
