Benjamin Mroz, age 95, of Shelton, entered into his eternal rest on Saturday November 10, 2018 in the Hospital of Central CT. He was the devoted husband of the late Ruth Crocamo Mroz. Ben was born in Derby on April 14, 1923 son of the late Henry and Camilla Mroz and was a proud lifelong Shelton resident until moving to Mulberry Gardens in Southingto­n a year and a half ago where he made many new friends and was well cared for by the staff. Ben was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII. He was employed for many years at Viking Tool as a tool maker until his retirement in 1988. Ben was a member of the American Legion Sutter Terlizzi Post # 16 in Shelton, the Valley Horseshoe League, and was a former coach for Shelton Little League. He was the the beloved father of Robert Mroz and his wife Alicia, William Mroz and his wife Ingrid, and the late Patricia Mroz. He was the cherished grandfathe­r of Justin Mroz and his wife Barbara, and Rachel Miller and her husband Rick. The adoring great grandfathe­r of Matthew Mroz and Adelaide Miller. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by 3 brothers, Joe, Stanley, and Francis Mroz and 2 sisters, Stephanie Carney and Sophie Hemenway. Friends may greet his family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p. m. in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Thursday a funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a. m. in the funeral home.
