Fred­er­ick “Fred” A. Dun­ning, Jr., age 50, beloved hus­band of Deanna Prot­sko Dun­ning of Strat­ford, passed away on Sun­day, Novem­ber 18, 2018 at Nor­walk Hos­pi­tal. Born in Bridge­port on April 5, 1968, he was the son of the late Fred­er­ick A. Dun­ning Sr. and Jeanette Cavuoto Dun­ning. Fred was raised in Fair­field, CT in the type of neigh­bor­hood where friends were fam­ily. He cher­ished those friend­ships through­out his life. He ran his busi­ness, Dunn- Rite Ap­pli­ance out of Strat­ford with hon­esty and in­tegrity. Fred was also a cer­ti­fied Per­sonal Trainer with pri­vate clients as well as clients at the Sau­gatuck Row­ing Club, where he was also the strength coach for the row­ers. He em­braced an ac­tive life­style, par­tic­i­pat­ing in Spar­tan Races and War­rior Dash events as well as 5K runs, long dis­tance bike rides and push up chal­lenges. He in­spired many to­wards a more ac­tive life­style and bet­ter health. He be­lieved in fam­ily first, but that phi­los­o­phy ex­tended far be­yond his im­me­di­ate fam­ily. At home he raised his three chil­dren with pride, was for­ever plant­ing new gar­dens in the yard, was a de­voted Pa­triot fan, and worked out con­sis­tently. He was a friend to ev­ery­one he met, loved mak­ing sauce on Sun­day morn­ings, hang­ing out at the firepit with a Guin­ness, and be­ing home with his fam­ily. In ad­di­tion to his beloved wife Deanna of 26 years, sur­vivors in­clude his three lov­ing chil­dren, Ha­ley Dun­ning ( Anna) of Shelton, Elise and An­drew Dun­ning both of Strat­ford, two sis­ters, Karen Cooper ( David) of Bethel and Jan­ice Wood ( Ken) of Whitinsville, MA, his fa­ther and mother- in- law, Larry and Bon­nie Prot­sko of Mon­roe, broth­ers- in­law, Den­nis Prot­sko ( Dana) and Ken Prot­sko ( Terri), and a sis­terin- law, Carolynn Prot­sko as well as many aunts, un­cles, cousins, nieces and neph­ews. Friends can greet the fam­ily on Mon­day, Novem­ber 26, 2018 from 4- 8 p. m. at the Abri­ola Parkview Fu­neral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trum­bull. A fi­nal prayer will take place Mon­day night at 7: 45 p. m. in the fu­neral home. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate at the con­ve­nience of the fam­ily. In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Deanna through the fu­neral home to be used for An­drew’s ed­u­ca­tion.
