Loretta E. Pizzella, 86, of Clin­ton, passed away on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 21, 2018 at Ap­ple Re­hab in Guil­ford. Loretta was born Oc­to­ber 16, 1932; she was the daugh­ter of the late Paul and Mary DiMella Pizzella of Hartford, CT and the sis­ter of the late Ni­cholas A. Pizzella who passed at the age of 39. She is sur­vived by her long time dear and lov­ing part­ner Pa­tri­cia Cof­fey of Clin­ton, CT. Her brother’s chil­dren; neph­ews, Dr. Paul F. Pizzella ( Marta), Marc P. Pizzella ( Rachael) and niece Er­ica A. Gra­ham ( Phillip). Her sis­ter in law Fredrica NixonStrusa ( An­thony) and her great neph­ews Ethan, Ni­cholas and niece Tessa of Amherst, NY and many close and dear cousins and friends which she held dear for her life­time. She was a long­time res­i­dent of Fair­field, CT and Clin­ton, CT and spent time in her Florida res­i­dence as well.

She was a grad­u­ate of Dean Col­lege and Con­necti­cut State Univer­sity and taught as a Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion teacher at McMann H. S. in Nor­walk, CT and Stam­ford Catholic H. S. in Stam­ford, CT.

Loretta’s grand­fa­ther was the orig­i­nal founder of the First and Last Tav­ern in Hartford, CT and the fam­ily owned and op­er­ated that for over 30 years. Loretta was an avid golfer, swim­mer and boater and of course ev­ery­one will re­mem­ber her abil­i­ties with her tap danc­ing shoes. She will be re­mem­bered as a lov­ing, kind and gen­er­ous aunt, sis­ter in law, com­pan­ion, cousin and friend to all and her pres­ence will not be for­got­ten.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be held on Thurs­day Novem­ber 29 at 11: 00 a. m. in St. Mary of Vis­i­ta­tion Church, 54 Grove St. Clin­ton CT. Burial will be pri­vate. For on­line con­do­lences, please visit www. swanfh. com
