HARTFORD — Not that Michael Dal Colle was with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday night to know that the script was the same Saturday night at the XL Center. But he knew the lines well.

“Undisciplined, selfish, some selfish penalties that hurt us,” Dal Colle said after Hartford’s 3- 1 win. “Myself included. You can’t give a team like that that many power plays. They’ve got a lot of skill.”

On Friday at Webster Bank Arena, four Bridgeport penalties let Hartford back into the game, turning a two- goal Sound Tigers lead into a 3- 2 shootout loss.

Saturday, five Sound Tigers penalties in the second period let the Wolf Pack score to take the lead midway through the second, then get another goal on a five- on- three that carried over to start the third.

“Easy goals given up did us in,” said Devon Toews, off whose interference minor behind the play the Wolf Pack took the lead. “We took a couple of bad penalties, myself included, and that hurts.”

The loss ended a 7- 0- 1- 1 streak for Bridgeport, which hadn’t lost in regulation since Nov. 2 at Springfield, which visits Webster Bank Arena on Sunday.

Jeremy Smith kept Bridgeport in it, making several big saves, one getting left- to- right on a Cole Schneider attempt on a two- on- one early in the first period. He stopped Shawn O’Donnell’s penalty shot in the second period.

“Smith was great. Excellent night, great goaltending, gave us every opportunity to get a point,” Bridgeport coach Brent Thompson said. “Both goalies have been outstanding.”

John Gilmour opened the scoring through traffic mdiway through the second. Again, like Friday in Bridgeport, it was Teddy Bear Toss night, and fans threw stuffed animals onto the ice for charity.

Peter Holland scored on a rebound 58 seconds into the third period. The teams traded goals in the next four minutes, but that was the margin of victory.

UP NEXT: Sunday vs. Springfield, 3 p. m.

— MICHAEL FORNABAIO Dustin Tokarski kept it there for the Wolf Pack, making 42 saves in all, 22 in the third.

“I don’t think we were playing our best” through two periods, Toews said. “The third period, we had ( 23) shots. We got it together, we just didn’t get the bounces to tie it up, and we were beating ourselves.”

The parent New York Islanders called up Tanner Fritz on Saturday afternoon. He had 10 points in 17 games for Bridgeport. They sent the Sound Tigers Dal Colle, who had 14 points in 14 games before being called up on Nov. 15.

Dal Colle scored Bridgeport’s goal on a rebound and forced a few other turnovers.

Bridgeport called Ryan Hitchcock back up from Worcester ( ECHL), where he played three games over the past couple of weeks ( missing a couple of games, ill). He didn’t play Saturday.
