LeRoy Allen Chimini “Lee,” age 75, of Chester, MD, passed away Monday, November

19, 2018 in his home. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late August and Elvira Domenichel­li Chimini, Lee was raised in Fairfield. He graduated from Andrew Warde High School and the University of Connecticu­t where he received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Civil Engineerin­g. Following graduation Lee began his career with the U. S. Department of Transporta­tion Bureau of Public Roads. He remained with the Department for over 40 years with assignment­s in major cities throughout the United States. He eventually settled in the Washington D. C. area until his retirement. Lee was an avid runner and was an accomplish­ed craftsman working with brick, tile, roofing, plumbing and electrical work. He had a culinary talent that began helping his mother cook when he was young. He loved cookbooks and mastering techniques of the cooking trade. His additional hobbies included wood refinishin­g, fishing and ballroom dancing. Lee will be sadly missed by his wife, Michelle Chimini of Chester, MD; a brother, Robert Chimini and his wife Katherine of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by an infant sister, Carol Ann Chimini, sister, Jacqueline Giannone and brother- in- law, Joseph Giannone. A memorial service celebratin­g Lee’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
