LeRoy Allen Chi­mini “Lee,” age 75, of Ch­ester, MD, passed away Mon­day, Novem­ber

19, 2018 in his home. Born in Bridge­port, the son of the late Au­gust and Elvira Domenichelli Chi­mini, Lee was raised in Fair­field. He grad­u­ated from An­drew Warde High School and the Univer­sity of Con­necti­cut where he re­ceived Bach­e­lor’s and Mas­ter’s De­grees in Civil En­gi­neer­ing. Fol­low­ing grad­u­a­tion Lee be­gan his ca­reer with the U. S. Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion Bureau of Pub­lic Roads. He re­mained with the Depart­ment for over 40 years with as­sign­ments in ma­jor cities through­out the United States. He even­tu­ally set­tled in the Wash­ing­ton D. C. area un­til his re­tire­ment. Lee was an avid run­ner and was an ac­com­plished crafts­man work­ing with brick, tile, roof­ing, plumb­ing and elec­tri­cal work. He had a culi­nary tal­ent that be­gan help­ing his mother cook when he was young. He loved cook­books and mas­ter­ing tech­niques of the cook­ing trade. His ad­di­tional hob­bies in­cluded wood re­fin­ish­ing, fish­ing and ball­room danc­ing. Lee will be sadly missed by his wife, Michelle Chi­mini of Ch­ester, MD; a brother, Robert Chi­mini and his wife Kather­ine of Strat­ford and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by an in­fant sis­ter, Carol Ann Chi­mini, sis­ter, Jacque­line Gian­none and brother- in- law, Joseph Gian­none. A memo­rial ser­vice cel­e­brat­ing Lee’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the char­ity of one’s choice.
